ABRUZZO - 3 days photo tour 2024

Abruzzo is a region rich in photographic ideas: its mountains, although so different from the usual alpine scenarios, have a conformation that makes them extremely photogenic. Sparsely inhabited, very few signs of human presence, capable of alternating in a few km large fields of poppies and barren "Tibetan" valleys full of grazing animals. If we add Apennine lakes, an absent light pollution for fantastic night photography we have a set of breathtaking situations.
So far Nature. But Abruzzo is also the land of medieval villages and castles: the abandoned castle of Rocca Calascio, the "village of photographers" of Scanno and the medieval one of Santo Stefano di Sessanio... do you need anything else to want to leave?

Namaa Travel Photography offers you a fascinating photographic journey workshop in the mountains and villages of Abruzzo: the dates are free within the seasons that we have chosen for you: the transition between spring and summer, and between summer and autumn, when the air is clear but nature has largely blossomed (and the crowding is reduced), accompanied by our English-speaking professional photographers, who will always guide you in search of the best shots.

DAY 1
Around 10 am Pick up in Pescara/L'aquila. Brief explanatory meeting on the program and introduction to landscape photography and the use of the equipment. "Warming up" with afternoon photo session in the wonderful medieval village of Santo Stefano di Sessanio. Subsequently moving to the nearby Rocca Calascio for photography of the sunset and the blue hour. After dinner, which could also be eaten packed, a night photo session (Milky Way) always in Rocca Calascio.

DAY 2
Photo session at dawn in Rocca Calascio. Return to the hotel for breakfast and rest.
Late morning departure for Campo Imperatore: along the way we will cross beautiful places, including the Capannelle road "the most beautiful panoramic road in Italy", where there will be numerous moments and photographic spots: grazing animals, fields of poppies, shepherds etc. We will stay in Campo Imperatore until sunset and the blue hour. After dinner, which could also be eaten packed, a night photo session at Lake Racollo (Campo Imperatore): thanks to the low light pollution and its particular conformation, it is possible to photograph the Milky Way mirrored on the waters.

DAY 3
Wake up early, breakfast at the hotel (with room checkout) and departure for Scanno: its unmistakable views and its people were the subjects of many famous shots throughout the twentieth century. In Scanno you will feel like you are entering a photographic set… only it is the reality, and it is not set up! We will spend the whole morning in Scanno. Around 12 pm back to pick point and end of services

All tour will take place in private car, from pick-up to drop off. All costs are included.

Landscape photographic equipment highly suggested: reflex/mirrorless camera, lenses from 15mm to 200mm. Filters and tripod (rent available). In full daylight also smartphone photography will give you fantastic shots. Drone possible strictly following local authorities policies (unfortunately Italian authorities are NOT drone-friendly) and under pilot's responsibility. To provide the best for you we kindly ask to comunicate us in advance if you're going bring one.

Customer cancellation policies: free (excl. international bank fees) within 7 days since subscriptions. Later, more than 15 days before departure date: a penality equal to deposit will be withheld.
